US Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez claims that the prosecutor lied about the police killing child incident that revolved around the Adam Toledo case recently.
The Chicago police department released graphic footage of the incident that took place last month where a 13-year-old boy was shot dead by an officer. Now, AOC is calling out the prosecutor from Cook County for making dishonest remarks regarding the shooting of the 7th grader, better known as the high profile Adam Toledo shooting-death incident.
Earlier in the court, it was noted how the prosecutor for the case had specifically spoken about how the 13-year-old was fatally shot by a cop from the Chicago police department for possessing a gun in his hand, during the time of his death.
Moreover, the comment was made and reported at a bond hearing for another suspect named Ruben Roman who is a 21-year-old man that was present alongside Toledo when cops responded to the scene.
Rep AOC’s controversial tweet was quickly followed by a statement made by the Cook County State’s Attorney Officer.
They claimed that the prosecutor had thoroughly failed at informing himself completely about the details pertaining to the case, before opening his mouth in the courtroom.
Therefore, they added how such grave errors like these can not happen. For this reason, they have gone forth and addressed the issue with the respective individual involved.
AOC responded how the prosecutor certainly did not make any mistake. Instead, she called him out for lying about the fact that the cops killed a child. The words don’t come as a surprise to many as Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is famous for being a leading critic of the law enforcement agencies since day one.
A recent still frame from the graphic bodycam footage clearly showed how Toledo was not carrying any weapon or anything at all when his hands were raised up in the air. And that is when the officer shot him in the chest, killing him in a second.
