Rep Ilhan Omar made headlines after condemning the recent violent attack that took place at the Capitol in DC.

The shocking incident killed one police officer while critically injuring another as a knife-wielding suspect ran his vehicle through a security barrier where the cops were positioned. Moreover, the car literally smashed the officers as the suspect attempted to flee.

After violently breaking through the barrier, the suspect got out of the car and began making his way towards others with a knife. But he was shot down by another police officer.

The cops were rushed to the nearest hospital where tragic news broke out about how one of them passed away. Soon, it was also confirmed how the suspect was also killed in the shootout. The other injured cop is currently in the hospital but his condition is reportedly stable, confirmed reports.

Meanwhile, Ilhan Omar opted to make her pitch on the Capitol attack which many certainly see coming again. The nation was just reeling from the trauma associated with the Capitol riots that were held on January 6th.

Ilhan claimed that the situation that unfolded on Friday could have been severely worse if the suspect who carried out the attack possessed an AR-15 rifle instead of a sharp knife. Moreover, she predicted how the causalities could have possibly been higher in that scenario.

“I am heartbroken to learn how another CP lost his life while doing his best to protect the Capitol,” she added. Ilhan also offered her condolences to the cop’s family as well as the entire Police force.

Police identified the suspect as Noah Green who brutally rammed his vehicle outside the Senate Complex, before lunging towards Capitol officers with a knife.

The incident is another example of why Democrats are calling for stricter gun control rules and regulations to help prevent violence in the country.
