A flight attendant danced with joy and the passengers applauded when a couple was kicked off the flight for ignoring face mask rules inside the aircraft.
Earlier this week, Brendan Elder uploaded a TikTok video of the scene. It was taken before a Southwest flight departed from the airport.
In the video clip, an airline employee can be seen talking to a woman in the front seat. The woman arguing that she followed requests to put her face mask on when asked to.
The woman is clearly angry as she accuses the airline employees of ‘lying’.
“You’re saying I didn’t comply and put my mask on when you asked me to?” the woman yelled. “Are you seriously telling them that I didn’t put my mask on when you asked me to? You are a liar!”
Despite the woman’s arguments, it seems like the other passengers share the same sentiments as the airline employee. A passenger can be heard shouting ‘bye!’ during the argument, while another person shouted: ‘Get off the plane!’
The passengers started applauding and cheering while the woman and the man seating beside her stood up to leave the plane. However, she made sure to make her feelings known as she turned around and stuck her middle finger up.
As soon as the two were off the plane, one of the flight attendants went to the aisle and started dancing gleefully, indicating that the airline staff has no second thoughts when it comes to enforcing the rules.
While the woman can be seen wearing a mask during the video, Southwest Airlines says that ‘federal law requires each person to wear a mask at all times in the airport and throughout the flight, including during boarding and deplaning.’
The fact that the woman had to be told to wear her mask clearly indicates that she removed it, therefore violating federal law.
According to the Southwest Airline website, refusing to wear a mask ‘may result in denial of boarding, removal from the aircraft, and/or penalties under federal law.’
