After announcing that they are step-siblings, a couple on Tik Tok got mixed reviews from the followers.
Some of the followers are in complete support of their relationship; others came with tremendous backlash.
Jordie Avena and Diana Camila Avila met six years ago and started dating in 2017. They got introduced to each other through their parents.
In the latest post, the couple replied to the critics that they are doing nothing wrong as they are not blood-related. They further said, “We don’t need anyone’s approval for our relationship.”
The couple has got an account with the name @alphafamilia on Tik Tok and have 600K followers. One of their videos, which showed the first kiss’s exchange during a ‘sibling’ movie night, goes viral.
The video fueled an intense debate among the followers and critics.
The couple hit back at the critics, saying, “They are proud siblings. ”Several people came up with strong criticism about their relationship. They raised the question about how they can pair together despite being siblings. The critics found their videos disturbing and unpleasant to sight as they thought the couple had violated the scarcity of the bond between siblings.
On the other hand, many people said, “Live and let others live.” They said there’s nothing wrong with their relationship as they’re not biological siblings. Replying to the critics, they said that no one has the right to pass judgemental comments on anyone.
In one of her videos, Diana said that they both had love at first sight, but due to the lack of acceptability in our society, they had to hide their feelings for a long time.
The pair also said, “They feel sad about the harsh comments they get daily from critics.
No one fell in love intentionally. It just comes to you crossing all the boundaries. “The pair is optimistic about continuing their relationship. About the question on kids, they said they’re not planning to have a kid yet, but we can expect to see one in the future.
