Vice President Kamala Harris and former US President Bill Clinton joined hands for a discussion on empowering women recently.
The discussion was held via a webcast regarding the topic of empowering both women and girls, being hosted by the renowned Clinton Global Initiative. However, the discussion did not take place as smoothly as expected. And that’s because it reportedly faced waves of criticism from the #Metoo movement.
The news comes in line with Bill Clinton’s infamous past history, which revolved around alleged sexual behavior and misconduct.
Vice President Kamala Harris spoke on the women’s empowerment topic boldly by mentioning how big of an honor it was for her to join former President Clinton for the grand virtual event, being hosted by the Clinton Global Initiative.
There was even one point in the entire talk, where Bill Clinton spoke in between the lines, endorsing Kamala Harris’s advice about how people should try and be present while they continue to live their lives. He added that by doing so, you give yourself the opportunity to forgive yourself too, for any ‘misdeeds.’
In addition, Bill Clinton spoke about how it is really great advice to follow.
“Also, if you are really present in the moment, you gain the gift of memory while passing through life.” Also, Clinton emphasized upon paying attention to every stage of life is super important, serving as a means by which you can build on things, and grow simultaneously too.
“It gives you the chance to forgive yourself for all of your mistakes while keeping a heads up in terms of looking for new answers too,” he added.
The conversation on Women’s Empowerment lasted for a good 22 minutes, focusing briefly on the ways COVID-19 has impacted women’s world too. In the same way, it did feature a brief about Kamala Harris’s mother, the spring weather, and the key role of vice presidents too.
