He also concluded the historic event by mentioning how there must be a lot of happy hearts beating right now.The new bill is getting plenty of attention and fame as the ‘South Carolina Fetal Heartbeat and Protectin from Abortion Act.
’ This states how a medical practitioner must carry out an ultrasound on the patient that wishes to seek an abortion so as to determine whether or not there is an actual fetal heartbeat.
In cases where a fetal heartbeat is present, doctors will not and can not perform the desired procedure. However, he did put forward a series of exceptions in which the right of abortion may be granted, This includes cases when the physician believes that it is a medical emergency and the patient’s life is in danger. Other than that, the bill allows abortion in cases of rape, fetal anomaly, or incest.
In those cases where doctors carry out abortion outside the outlined parameter, they will be liable to face imprisonment as well as fines too.
