Michael Brown’s father and a leading number of other activists are voicing their complaints regarding greater financial support.
Today, both members demand $20 million from the BLM and that’s right after the mega organization revealed how it managed to raise over $90 million in the last year.
Michael Brown was fatally shot in the year 2014 by a white cop. Now, his dad is making demands, alongside a leading number of other activists who believe they assisted in propelling the movement in the first place. With claims of helping out their community with better financial support, they demand 20 million dollars.
Speaking at the recent Black Freedom Alliance, these people boldly questioned ‘where all of the funds were going in the first place?’ Brown’s father who goes by the name Brown Sr. spoke at the press release on Tuesday while making the demands.
In addition, he exclaimed, “How could you leave the families who are helping out the community without any funding”
The shockingly tragic police shooting of young Michael Brown sparked great unrest and outrage amongst different members of society in Ferguson with many demanding the arrest and a transparent investigation into the matter.
Moreover, it also assisted in solidifying the famous Black Lives Matter movement too.
One Ferguson activist who goes by the name of Tory Russell explained how they weren’t asking for a simple handout. Instead, they want the funding to kept their movement strong, as it all began from here in the first place.
A recent press release mentioned how the funds received in the area of Ferguson would then partially be used to create a bigger community center that honored Michael Brown.
The news comes at a time when the Black Lives Matter movement’s global foundation revealed its funding statistics to the world. It was a part of a conclusive report that was first given out to the Associated Press.
