New York’s Governor Andrew Cuomo appeared on Wednesday where he announced a public apology to whomever he offended.
Cuomo stayed more than one week away from cameras as he apologized for his behavior, right after two women publicly appeared and accused him of sexual misconduct. In the same way, a third also appeared, alleging another unwanted advance. And that’s when the governor stepped in to defend himself, with claims as to how he had no clue the women felt that way.
“I didn’t know that I was making anyone feel uncomfortable.” However, the Democrat representative failed to talk about his resignation.
In fact, he blatantly denied and rejected calls for his resignation. In the same way, he pleaded with fellow New Yorkers to wait for directions from the state attorney general in regards to issuing a report regarding the controversial matter.
And that included urging citizens to stay calm and not form opinions regarding any alleged transgressions. However, critics believe that the pending inquiry could possibly take months to complete. Governor Cuomo seized the spotlight of the news conference in an attempt to try and put back all calls to step down immediately.
“I never touched anyone inappropriately. I never touched anyone inappropriately,” he added as his first public remarks regarding the case as he went ahead to address the scandal. “I had no idea that I was making anyone feel uncomfortable at the time.”
New York’s governor began talking about the COVID-19 as his briefing to the press began. And that was right before he acknowledged the big elephant in the room, pinpointing to statements regarding his allegations.
“I need New Yorkers to hear from me directly regarding this. Firstly, I fully support all women’s rights and their right to come forward. I believe it should be encouraged in that way.”
The governor again reiterated how sorry he was for the incidents that entered the spotlight and how he felt extremely awful about the way many took his jokes.
