This is the inspiring story of a woman who donated her surplus supply of breast milk to all those mothers struggling with lactation.
According to media reports, Katy Bannerman showed that golden hearts still exist in this world when she clicked images of her deep freezer, overflowing with milk supply. Comprising of over 8000 ounces of pure breast milk, the mother is on a mission to help all those struggling mothers in need.
During the course of the deadly COVID-19 pandemic, the mother of two started giving away her excess supply of breast milk to those women who struggled with pumping. Moreover, she claims that she felt more than inspired to carry out the good deed for another major reason.
Katy herself went through great trials and tribulations when it came to lactation issues. Moreover, she found it so hard to pump milk during her little son’s infancy too. However, when she became pregnant with her second baby, Katy was more than determined to face her fears and overcome any past issues.
Taking help from an experienced private lactation consultant, she spoke about the troubles related to overproducing. Therefore, she pumped around 90 ounces of pure breast milk in one day. Katy claims that she was on a mission to help out other people that struggled with some of the same issues that she used to go through.
At first, the new mum had no clue about what to do with so much breast milk. Moreover, she explains how she turned to a local group on Facebook that brought together women from all over, fostering communities to come forward and unite for one cause- breastfeeding and nursing.
This included many calls for breast milk and that’s where Katy received the guidance and inspiration she needed to help others out.
Today, Katy is super proud of herself for donating and helping others out. She feels there is no greater pleasure than the act of giving and that leaves her feeling content.
