Texas authorities found a 12-year-old boy hanging in his bedroom, after suffering a distressing depression battle amid COVID-19.
According to media reports, the boy felt very sad and lonely in the middle of the pandemic’s lockdown. And for that reason, he felt his only escape was hanging himself. The shocking details were revealed to authorities by the 12-year-old’s father.
Local media outlets confirmed the tragic news, identifying the young boy as Hayden Hunstable from Aledo. But the real sad part is how he took his own life, just a few days before his beautiful 13th birthday.
Investigations into the heartbreaking affair showed how Hayden couldn’t find a way out of his head.
Therefore, his compounding thoughts got the best of him.
It was more like he didn’t know how to process the great isolation as well as depression that came side by side with the deadly virus. In the end, the emerging disease resulted in a massive countrywide shutdown, as reported by UK’s metro.Sadly, young Hayden’s 9-year-old sister named Kinlee found him in a hanging position, right inside his room.
Meanwhile, the deceased child’s father, 42-year-old Brad revealed how he wished to prevent future suicides and therefore expressed his wish to share awareness on the important mental issue of the pandemic.
“COVID killed my son Hayden.
I strongly believe that my son Hayden would actually be alive today if the coronavirus never took place in the first instance,” he exclaimed in a sad tone.In the same way, the father of 3 mentioned how he had not even the slightest hint that his son suffered from such severe mental issues.
“I didn’t know he was depressed or struggling as he was always such a happy kid with the most loving family with friends.”
Brad also referred to the pandemic as the perfect storm for all things related to suicide as well as depression. Hayden’s father believes his child made the most tragic decision and it is a bitter truth that Hayden’s loved ones must accept for the rest of their lives.
