Police authorities in the Netherlands carried out a brutal water cannon attack which left one woman with a fractured skull.
According to reports from the state media, the police used water cannons to disperse off demonstrators who protested against the country’s lockdown curfew timings. However, little did they know that their target towards a female would leave her with a massive fracture to her skull.
The anti-lockdown riots took center stage in the country during the weekend when a harrowing video surfaced on social media.
Here, the victim bleeds profusely from her injured head, right after a water cannon struck her forcefully. According to news outlets, the woman was identified as Denisa Stastna who was hit forcefully while standing on a street in the local area of Eindhoven.
Investigations into the shocking incident revealed how the jet fired from a police van literally knocked her off the ground.
In addition, the immense pressure pushed her towards the side of a building. And the forceful blow to her head resulted in a huge skull fracture. She also reportedly had to undergo 15 stitches to her head, right after the brutal incident.
Denisa who is a Czech national talked about how she and her boyfriend weren’t even a part of the country’s anti-lockdown riots. She added how she was on the streets to film the events surrounding her. But little did she know, she would have to pay a huge price of doing so.
Speaking to a local news outlet, she mentioned, “We are just standing there and filming the events and then attempted to walk away. They had no right to use the water cannon upon us,” she explained in a furious tone. In addition, Denisa’s boyfriend mentioned how the pair were never out for the sake of violence.
Now, the pair is looking forward to taking action against the involved authorities. But that comes with claims from Dutch prosecutors who mentioned that being in the vicinity where violence was taking place is equivalent to being involved.
They also mentioned how there were plenty of emergency orders with announcements relating to how all had to leave the area immediately. Yet, the couple chose to ignore them and began filming instead.
They concluded with the bold statement, “If you don’t leave then you’re in principle punishable.”
