A businessman from upstate New York claims that officials treated all the detainees from the Capitol riots like beasts.
According to news agencies, the man was identified as an influential businessman who hailed from Upstate New York. The man explained how officers arrested him on suspicion of being involved in the Capitol riots that rocked the entire nation recently. Moreover, he went on explaining how the authorities treated all of the detainees like beasts too.
William Leary hails from Utica and is a prominent business owner, He mentioned to the Associated Press how officers held him for a whopping 24 hour period.
And that’s when they confiscated his cellphone too. The news comes as a part of Wednesday’s massive crackdown to arrest those responsible for causing terror in the march on Capitol Hill.
Unfortunately, William explains how authorities falsely accused him of taking part in the radical siege. He confirmed how he didn’t even set foot in the Capitol building. Still, he’s beyond appalled at how badly the authorities treated all of the detainees, guilty or not.
Without any forms of communication or assistance, William lay helpless. “They took all of our phones. I didn’t even get the chance to make a single phone call or tell anybody where I was too,” he exclaimed.
Meanwhile, Leary was just one of many hundreds who cops in DC arrested on suspicion of being involved in the attacks.
