A heartbreaking final picture shows a COVID-19 stricken mom and daughter duo holding hands, moments before the mum died.
Taken from their beds in the hospital’s intensive care unit, both individuals struggle for air while fighting the deadly Coronavirus. The daughter, Anabel Sharma, explained how this was her final picture with mum, 76-year-old Maria Rico.
She also described how she had no idea how her mom would be dead, just 24 hours later. Moreover, the 49-year-old daughter also took this opportunity to gravely warn others about the virus’s deadly nature. “Don’t let this be you,” she exclaimed in the most harrowing moment ever.
Anabel says that the speed of the COVID-19 virus ravaged her entire family. And it was as frightening as can be. In the same way, she explained how anyone can get the deadly virus, and it’s unpredictable whether or not you’ll survive through it.
“If anyone thinks about breaking the rules, then I would suggest that you put yourself in my shoes,” she boldly explained. In the same way, she says that there’s truly nothing worse in the world than watching your mum die, or be told that your survival is unpredictable.
The 49-year-old also says that her whole family was so careful in terms of following precautions as their mum lived with them. They used to get food delivered and rarely ever did she do the school run. Therefore, she never anticipated that COVID would hit their family, yet it did.
Explaining her mum’s final moments, she says that Maria took off her oxygen mask, just so she could say goodbye to her daughter and her sister Susana. The latter was only allowed into the ward, after wearing PPE.
Maria was from Whitwick Leics and she was the last member of her family that fell ill. This was right after Anabel’s son contracted COVID-19. He got the virus following his return to his school, in the month of September.
