A man reunited with his 67-year-old homeless father after more than ten years just before Christmas.
Jason Kelly, 23, is a boy from a broken family, and he last saw his father when he was 12-year-old. The father left home after he was divorced and hadn’t returned since then. Kelly had a photo of his lost father as the only memory, and he tried hard to find him, and finally, he succeeded. The father is said to sleep in the parks, graveyards, and streets of Liverpool as he had no roof to live under in the initial few years of divorce.
Jason had only one photo of his father, which was captured in the late 1990s.
He posted the picture on different platforms and sought people’s help.Someone recognized Jason’s father and gave him the address where he had seen him.
He reached the home on December 25, and luckily his father was there as per the information provided by the stranger. The 23-year-old calls it a Christmas miracle and couldn’t express how happy he is to meet his dad after ten long years.
“An old woman who was probably in her 70’s opened the door and confirmed that my dad lives here, but he was out for a morning walk.
I was about to leave the place when I saw my dad coming home. He was in a state of shock and couldn’t believe his eyes and started running.I had to chase after him,” Jason said.
“I was running behind him and yelling Dad, it’s me, Jason, your son!” he added. The reunion was quite emotional, and Jason said that his dad couldn’t look up at him because his eyes were filled with tears. After some time, he calmed himself and asked about the family and his date of birth.
The duo is slowly developing a relationship that a father and son should have, but it will take some time. The dad is living in the house for the past five years with his friend. Jason bought a mobile and cake for his dad as a Christmas present. He wants to stay in touch with him and wants him to get back on his feet.
