7-year-old Eli Davidson jumped back into a burning home to rescue her baby sister from fire.
It was December 8 when the incident occurred at the Davidson house in New Tazewell, Tennessee. The family consists of five members; Nicole Davidson- the dad, Chris Davidson – the mother, Eli and Elijah – the two brothers, and a younger sister named Erin Davidson. The family went to sleep at 8 pm after having dinner, and a few hours later, the father woke up to the smell of smoke.
The family couldn’t do anything to extinguish the fire because it was too late, and the blazes had surrounded the entire house. The couple and the two boys managed to come out of their rooms, but the 22-month-old Erin was too small to come out. Her room was engulfed by thick fire, and the family couldn’t reach her from inside.
Thus, the father went out of the home and tried to get her from the window, but as there was nothing he could stand on to reach the height of the window, he decided to send his 7-year-old son inside. He picked up Eli, who jumped inside the room and successfully brought the sister out from her cradle.
The parents and all others who know about the incident are so very proud of the brave young kid.
Eli said he was uncertain in the beginning that if he can do it, but he didn’t want to lose her sister; thus, he tried and succeeded. The family, who almost lost their hope, were so proud of Eli, and they said he had done something that even an adult couldn’t do.
Eli is one of the 34 children fostered by the couple, who are former firefighters.
The fire had turned everything into ashes when the firefighters reached the scene.
There was nothing left, and the couple has to start everything from scratch again, but it is good that there was no loss of life. A GoFundMe page has been set to raise funds for the devastated family. This must be a tough time for them; we hope they get enough donations to start up again.
