A 17-year-old schoolboy who switched his gender lately confessed that he had killed his mother.
Rowan Thompson throttled his 50-year-old mother to unconsciousness and then stabbed her multiple times. The mother and son duo returned from a morning jog when the incident took place in their village home. Rowan brutally stabbed the mother 64 times to the neck, 38 times to the forehead, and six times to the arm.
The son called 999 after killing his mother and confessed the crime in a calm and cold voice. He gave the news in an unemotional tone and said that he had just killed his mother after strangling and stabbing her multiple times. Police received the strange call at 12:45 on July 1, 2019.
The officers who went to arrest the teenager reported that he was not afraid nor was regretting.
He was so calm and composed as nothing had happened. He was due in court in October, but he died four days before the police custody trial at a secure mental health facility ward. Thompson suffered from severe depression and had a history of a suicide attempt following the suicide of his maternal uncle.
He was being treated for his mental health issues in the past, but his behavior with anyone was never violent.
Thompson changed his name from Ben to Thompson and became gender-less recently.
An investigation report that came out today revealed that Thompson and his mother had a strained and tense relationship. He used to live with his father and visit the mother only on weekends. Thompson’s father is a magician who lives in Barnsley, South Yorkshire.
The mother argued with Thompson the night before her death regarding his living arrangements. Thompson told the authorities that he felt unusual after returning from the morning walk, and he was not conscious when he attempted the crime. He also said he couldn’t remember anything until he reached the police station.
The strange and depressing recording of the incident was played in the Winchester Coroner’s Court today.
The clip shows Thompson’s call to 999, where he confessed that he has made sure that her mother can’t breathe and asked the police to bring an ambulance and arrest him. There was no fear in his voice. He talked in a composed tone and also added that he had put the knives in the dishwasher.
