British television host Piers Morgan has had enough of the rumors that he is actually the Pigeon Lady from the classic holiday film Home Alone 2: Lost in New York.
On the Tuesday edition of Good Morning Britain, co-host Susanna Reid brought up the topic as she shows a side-by-side image comparing Morgan to the Pigeon Lady, saying it was ‘proof’ they were the same person.
“Can we just have a look at ‘Home Alone 2’ because, frankly, it is the best picture,” Reid said.
“Lots of people watch ‘Home Alone 2’ and wonder if this is you.”
“Why does this keep coming around? That is not me!” Morgan protested.
“I am not the bag lady in ‘Home Alone 2.’”
Reid then showed some footage of Piers with a pigeon on his head from 2018, and jokingly said, “Everywhere you go you attract the pigeons.”
The segment drew hilarious reactions from social media, with one quipped, “This is too funny now I can’t unsee it or think it @piersmorgan.”
The rumor was thought to have started back in 2017, when his own son, Spencer, pointed out his father’s uncanny resemblance to the character.
While it seems that Spencer had joked around with his dad every holiday season, the 55-year-old broadcaster isn’t one to let it pass.
However, Twitterverse had actually called out the similarity as early as 2010, when one user wrote, “For a while I’ve wondered who Piers Morgan reminded me of. Finally I’ve found out! The Crazy Pigeon Lady from Home Alone 2!”
The iconic character who was actually played by Irish Actress Brenda Fricker, who also won an Academy Award for playing Christy Brown’s mother in My Left Foot.
In her native Ireland, she had been featured on a postage stamp as the character Mrs. Brown, and ranked No. 26 on a list of the country’s greatest film actors.
