A woman stabbed her son in the skull after he came home incoherent and confessed that he murdered someone.
The victim is a graduate of one of the most elite Sydney college and was a very bright student. He became a heroin and ice addict after his focus shifted from sports to parties and music. The mother couldn’t control her anger when he came home, acting erratically, and she stabbed him multiple times. The mother is identified as Samantha Palmer, a 55-year-old woman. She was drinking in the living room before Hugo Ball stumbled into the house at 1:40 am.
Samantha was seen screaming, “Jamie! Jamie! I love you, Jamie, darling!” as Hugo Ball was taken away in a stretcher.
Police took the mother in custody immediately. The mother was due in court on Sunday, where she said that her son had fallen into valium, ice, and heroin addiction. She also said that Ball had graduated from Scots College in 2015. The college is among the best private colleges in Australia with an annual fee of $33000.
The bright-eyed student was a rugby player at his school, and he proudly shared his achievements with social media followers as a teenager.
He later decided to pursue his career as an MMA fighter. He was particularly interested in the UFC great Conor McGregor, who seemed to be his inspiration. Some old posts in the newsfeed of Ball’s account mocked Knox Grammar School, another prestigious school in Sydney.
In 2018 he shared many pictures of him during a trip to Papua New Guinea.
Ball’s relation with his mother and stepfather suffered a lot when they came to know about his drug use. The mother couldn’t stop herself when she was told that her son had committed a murder. She stabbed him multiple times and the wounds were very severe. Hugo Ball is currently struggling with life-threatening injuries.
After the police arrested the mother, she yelled to tell her son how much she loves him. “Let me see him; I am his mother, for God’s sake!” she screamed as police took her away.
She cannot meet and talk to Ball due to the police’s interim apprehended violence order. Authorities said that the family has a history of violence, but Palmer has never been convicted for any such crime.
The prosecution has opposed the bail application by Palmer’s legal team as the victim is not stable.
