Kyle Rittenhouse posted a $2 million bail on Friday, November 20, and was released from jail.
17-year-old Kyle Rittenhouse from Kenosha was accused of two murders during a Black Lives Matter protest. On August 25, people jammed the streets following the murder of Jacob Blake by police officers. Rittenhouse fatally shot Anthony Huber and Joseph Rosenbaum amidst violence sparked by the protestors. He’s also accused of wounding another man, Gaige Grosskreutz.
Ricky Schroeder, the Silver Spoons star, helped the Illinois resident raise a $2 million bond. Mike Lindell, the CEO of MyPillow, started the fundraising campaign for Rittenhouse.
Attorney Lin Wood posted a picture of Rittenhouse with former NYPD Blue actor Ricky Schroeder and captioned it with “Free At Last!” She also showed full support to Kyle in another tweet, writing, “Kyle is a hero! I am in tears listening to him thanking all those who supported him with prayers and money. Kyle said God always lifts him whenever he falls. He is a hero, indeed, so are his supporters. Keep him in your prayers.”
Rittenhouse denied the accusation of first-degree murder and said he fired in self-defense.
He told police that a group of people attacked him while protecting a business from looting, and he would’ve died if he hadn’t fired.Other than homicide, he is also charged with illegal possession of weapons and reckless endangerment.
He has to appear in court again on December 3 for a preliminary hearing.The case has become a subject of political debate.
The black community has called him a “trigger-happy white supremacist,” While conservatives rendered their full support to his family.
Wendy Rittenhouse, Kyle’s mother, got a standing ovation by women at the Waukesha County GOP function.People also donated thousands of dollars to reach the required $2 million cash bail.
John Huber, the father of one of the victims, asked the court to set the bail between $4 million – $10 million.
In contrast, Rittenhouses’s attorney demanded $750,000 bail, which ultimately ends up at $2 million.
John Huber also said he is sure that militia groups will hide Rittenhouse from police if he gets released.Black, the friend who purchased the weapon for Kyle, told the media that Kyle was scared to death as he assumed that he would spend the rest of his life in jail.
