The fan-voted awards took place on Sunday in the absence of the audience due to COVID-19 restrictions. Ellen DeGeneres won the Daytime Talk Show of 2020 amid a challenging stage of her career. She dedicated the award to her crew and other staff members and said this couldn’t have been possible without them.
Ellen showed gratitude to all her fans and supporters worldwide. She said, “I thank you all for your consistent love and support. I am short of words to express my feelings at the moment.”

The recent scandal put a question mark on the reputation of the show. After winning the award, Ellen referred to the scandal and said this means a lot to her. She passed a humorous comment at the end and said she would wipe the trophy with Lysol before placing it on her shelf.
Jenifer Lopez got emotional while accepting the People’s Icon of 2020. She said 2020 was not a joke.
