Dominic West has shut down rumors that his marriage is on the rocks after he was pictured kissing actress Lily James in Rome.
The 50-year-old actor said his marriage to wife Catherine FitzGerald is “strong” as they were photographed together giving a statement to the press outside their Wiltshire home. The couple has been married since 2010 and has four children together.
Dominic and Catherine put on a defiant display as they stood outside their home, held hands, and kissed. As they walked side by side, Catherine was seen carrying a hand-written note that reads: “Our marriage is strong and we’re very much still together. Thank you.”
“I just want to say our marriage is strong and we are still very much still together,” Dominic said.
The actor then handed out the note before turning to kiss Catherine and walking off to their home together. He refused to answer any questions about what had happened in Italy.
Dominic, who starred in Showtime drama The Affair, was seen with Mamma Mia star Lily James, 31, who recently split “for good” from Doctor Who star Matt Smith after an on/off relationship for around 5 years.
Dominic and Lily previously both starred in Downton Abbey, and were pictured to what seems to be a romantic getaway, having an intimate lunch together in Rome.
In the photos, Dominic was stroking Lily’s hair and kissing her neck. They were also seen on a scooter as he wrapped his arms around Lily and they hopped on the vehicle together.
