A 28-year-old woman from Oklahoma was arrested Tuesday morning after she allegedly tried “bathroom excuse” to escape traffic stop and led officers on a short chase.
Officer Geoffrey McBride of the Enid Police Department stopped Emily Owings Sindt around 9am on Tuesday for not wearing a seatbelt.
Sindt did not have her insurance or any identification, and only presented a medical marijuana card.
When the officer ran her information, they found that she had her driver’s license revoked, so they started checking for any outstanding warrants.
“But I have to poop so bad,” she told the officer when he informed her that they are checking for outstanding warrants.
“It’s my birthday. It’s my f–king birthday,” she said as heard from the bodycam footage, “Why won’t you just let me go?”
“Because your license is suspended!” the officer replied to her, in which she promptly apologized and said that she “didn’t know, otherwise I won’t drive no more.”
She continued to insist for the officer to let her “go home and go poop,” but soon enough the officer discovered that she had warrants out of Woods and Grant counties for allegedly fighting an officer.
The officer then asked Sindt to get out of the vehicle and informed her that she was under arrest, she revved her engine, cursed the officers at the scene and sped away with her tires squealing.
She led officers on a short chase, reaching speeds of 70 mph in a 30 mph zone, passing an elementary school through an intersection with a four-way stop before ultimately stopping and surrendering to cops with their guns drawn.
Sindt was taken into custody, and a glass meth pipe with a burnt residue inside was found inside her vehicle during an inventory.
She was booked into the Garfield County Detention Center on complaints of eluding, reckless driving, driving under suspension, no seat belt, no insurance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
