The US rapper has recently said in his interview that he would model the US government on the fictional ‘Wakanda’ nation from Black Panther.
Kanye West claimed that he’s looking forward to running for the president of the US in the upcoming 2020 election. He stated that he is going to participate as an independent candidate in the election if Donald Trump doesn’t drop out and if he does then as a Republican. However, the artist hasn’t completed the required paperwork and as per policies, he can’t appear on certain state ballots as it’s too late.
In his interview with Forbes, West hinted at imitating the organizational model as of Marvel’s hit sci-fi film ‘Black Panther’.
According to West, many Africans do not like Black Panther due to the representation of themselves in Wakanda and that’s the major reason why he wants to emulate the framework of Wakanda from that movie. He claimed that Wakanda’s framework is the best reflection of what their design group would feel in the White House.
Released in 2018, Black Panther starred Chadwick Boseman who played the role of superpowered king of Wakanda – the futuristic African country.
West indicated in his interview that the specific thing he wanted to follow from the movie was their technological infrastructure and the way their leader (King T’Challa) worked closely with the top scientists. He stated,
“Let’s get back to Wakanda…like in the movie in Wakanda when the king went to visit that lead scientist to have the shoes wrap around her shoes. Just the amount of innovation that can happen, the amount of innovation in medicine – like big pharma – we are going to work, innovate, together.”
In his interview, the “Jesus Walks” rapper talked about various other topics that included his alleged retraction of COVID-19 and support for President Trump. However, Forbes called West’s interview as “rambling”.
