The notoriously personal Sia last year adopted two young boys aged out of the foster care system, she said Monday in an interview with “The Morning Mash Up” by SiriusXM.
The singer who dislikes showing her public persona is giving us a sneak peek of her heart.
The singer also spoke in the interview about how her children deal with quarantine.
“They both find this pretty hard, one more than the other,” She added, “So they’re both doing stuff right now that’s really good for them, that’s really positive. They ‘re both doing a lot of educational activities that are good for them.”
Now they are both 19 and Sia says she loves them both a lot, but added that both are learning much indoors.
Now, if you continue raising an eyebrow about the idea of adult adoption … You shouldn’t have to. Anyway, not in California, where Sia has at least one home and seems to reside permanently. Here, you can adopt 18-year-olds — there is a whole process, and it’s not all that unusual.
Sia, who, when in public, hides almost her entire face with extravagant wigs, didn’t mention whether she’ll go to extreme lengths to shield her children from the public sphere.
“I don’t wear this if cameras aren’t present,” Sia told James Corden during a “Carpool Karaoke” segment in 2016. “I only wear this to maintain a modicum of privacy .”
Sia, full name Sia Kate Isobelle Furler, had talked briefly about her willingness to adopt a child. She tweeted about Dasani in 2019, a 16-year-old who starred in Foster’s HBO series, writing: ‘I’d wish to adopt you that we’re only trying to find you and get my house checked etc.’
But as she became ‘newly rich’ and is using that status to help those in need, She added that ‘It means that I can make many people’s dreams come true, which is the best feeling I’ve ever had, especially now that I don’t drink nor i’m on drugs.’
Sia however, did not reveal the names of her adopted sons.
