Brixlee Marie Lee was rushed to Shannon Medical Center after the police found her unconscious in the early hours of November 7, and was transferred to Cook’s Medical in Fort Worth once she was stabilized.

The officers were at the residence, they have noted that the house was cluttered with medical equipment, including a stethoscope, blood pressure cup, tweezers, and what seemed to be a blood glucose monitoring device.

They also found suspected heroin, methamphetamine, marijuana, pills and drug paraphernalia during their search.

The investigator first spoke with 34-year-old Dustin Smock, and said that him and Brixlee’s grandmother, 37-year-old Cristin Bradley, left the baby to brush their teeth and came back to find her unconscious.

He believes that the child had some kind of an allergic reaction to the formula.

However, the officers later found out that Brixlee was born inside the home on August 23, 2020, and that Bradley used a shoelace to cut her umbilical cord.

Her mother, 21-year-old Destiny Harbour, had never taken her child to a hospital since.

Bradley claimed that the baby suffered from colic, and had been taking care of Brixlee by providing her and her mother a place to live, as well as providing medical care for them.

However, an attending physician advised that the child went into a cardio-respiratory failure, had injection marks on her extremities and head, and tested positive for heroin.
